Helping You Transition Securely to Windows 11

With the official end of support for Windows 10 approaching on 14 October 2025, schools across the UK are preparing to upgrade their devices. At NYES Digital, we’re working in partnership with Microsoft to support your transition—securely, affordably, and with minimal disruption.

What is ESU?

The Extended Security Updates (ESU) programme provides critical and important security updates for Windows 10 devices after official support ends. ESU is available on a per-device annual subscription and is designed to help schools maintain security and compliance while planning their upgrade path to Windows 11.

Why ESU Matters for Education

  • End of Support: After 14 October 2025, Windows 10 devices will no longer receive free security updates, patches, or technical support from Microsoft.
  • Security Risks: Unsupported systems are more vulnerable to cyber threats and may pose compliance risks under data protection regulations.
  • Transition Challenge: Many schools have devices that aren’t yet ready for Windows 11 due to hardware limitations or budget constraints.

ESU gives schools additional time to plan and replace legacy devices without compromising safety or compliance.

Microsoft’s ESU Offer for Schools

Microsoft introduced deeply discounted ESU pricing for education customers, set at £1.00 per device, licenses provide security updates until October 2026.

Schools must request ESU licenses through their existing Microsoft licensing partners. As your trusted ICT partner, NYES Digital will:

  • Provide the ESU licenses
  • Ensure your Windows 10 devices are updated and ready to accept the ESU key
  • Apply the ESU license key to your devices

Why Schools Value ESU

  • Time to Plan: ESU gives schools an extra year to budget, plan, and implement device upgrades.
  • Cost-Effective: Education pricing and installation support are designed to be affordable and accessible.

Continuity: ESU ensures compliance and protection for legacy devices that cannot yet transition to Windows 11.

Let’s Work Together

We’re here to help you navigate this transition confidently.

To get started, please send us:

  • A list of your Windows 10 devices
  • Their usual storage or usage locations

We’ll provide a tailored quote for the licenses and installing ESU licenses on those devices.

Our Team Can Also:

  • Provide a free Windows 10 audit for NYES Digital customers
  • Advise on ESU licensing and deployment
  • Support your upgrade path to Windows 11

Let’s ensure your school remains secure, compliant, and future-ready.
